I’ve always enjoyed coaching people to help them reach their goals, whether in sports or in a business setting. As a career ownership coach, I look forward to helping people achieve some of their life’s goals.
From the earliest times of my childhood, the value of hard work was instilled in me. From mowing grass, to hauling hay, bagging groceries to bussing tables, I’ve never been afraid of hard work. I still believe that the daily grind of consistent and smart effort is a huge part of anyone’s success. That said, over time in business, you learn that your own hard work often benefits others more than it benefits yourself. Thus, I am a big believer in business ownership.
I have a degree in business from the University of Texas, with a specialty in Engineering Management.
I worked in the software business in implementation and development, eventually moving to sales and marketing, working as a sales manager and sales trainer.
Most of my career has been in manufacturing instruments for the oil and gas industry. As President and CEO, I particularly enjoyed the relationship with our employees. I enjoyed coaching them in their careers while working together to build a great business. The relationships you build with customers and vendors is another particularly great part of running a business.
For fifteen years, I was a member of the Vistage CEO organization. This gave me a great opportunity to learn from other business leaders, to coach, and to be coached.
Outside of business, I have spent a lot of time coaching kids. I’ve also enjoyed volunteering to teach Sunday School or helping to manage church business.
My wife, Tracie, and I enjoy spending time with our sons, especially on the lake, at sporting events, at concerts, and in the mountains.
